We've been missing in action..

Our perfect little fellow, Xavier Francis. Born September 23rd, he brings so much joy to our lives. At 8 weeks old, he is developing a real little personality and seems to have taken a liking for play dates at 2am. Cheeky little guy.

Our other little guy (otherwise known as Little Choopie) turned 3 this week. The whole week has been one big celebration with yesterday's party being the perfect end to 3 year old birthday parties. For now I will leave you with a picture of our grown up baby boy, Lucca, but stayed tuned for a whole post dedicated to his Rainbow Party.

Sorry nothing new of the Little Choopie accessory variety, but I have a huge amount of supplies just sitting there for me to get my crafty hands on to.. so stay tuned for some gorgeous new pretties coming very soon xx

"Look what I got mummy!"

For a long time now I have been inspired by my gorgeous friend Hayley over at Little Pinwheel. You see every Monday she does a new brilliant craft activity with her children. You probably have seen all about her and agree that you can never get tired of reading her craft Monday posts. I just adore them and how wonderful and inspiring she is as a parent to her two beautiful children.

Well my little guy normally heads of to my in-laws on Monday for a bit of grandparent time whilst Mummy gets a bit of house work and Little Choopie work done. But today he is at home with mummy and whilst making a mess, whilst Mummy was cleaning the mess, I heard a little voice say "Look what I got Mummy!" Out came a huge case full to the brim with crayons, markers, textas, stamps, stickers, paper, glue, paint and paint brushes. A crafty child's delight.

Excited by his HUGE find we set about making some space on the kitchen table ready for a lovely morning of crafting. First I gave Lucca (That's my Little Choopie) some paper and we did some painting and drawing with markers. These were his pictures for Papa, that we will send off to Papa's work.

I thought Lucca may have got a bit distracted after awhile but he simply just loves to paint and draw and craft anything (a bit like his mumma) so we were able to keep at it for a good while. A nice way to spend the morning with my little guy.

Next we moved on to a card for Lucca's Nanny. Out of my craft box came a bright red card and a few other bits and bobs including foam shapes and some cupcake liners from the pantry. Lucca continued to do some drawing on this card with textas and then we had a go with the stamps. This was really quite messy but a lot of fun watching him do it. Lucca then settled on a few pieces of foam shapes to glue down and then some cupcake liners to finish off his card.

I am looking forward to many more craft mornings with my Little Choopie. And I am sure I will continued to be inspired by my gorgeous friend Hayley at the Little Pinwheel Blog. In a girl's world

Just recently Little Choopie had a photo shoot with my very talented and gorgeous friend, Michelle of Mishkyah Photography.

With a lack of girls in this household (besides - Mumma Choopie, that's me!) its often hard to capture the beauty of our accessories as they are made. As much as my Little Choopie loves to pick up a new creation and say "Lucca wear pretty" it doesn't really cut it when trying to photograph the sweetness of our new clips. So when my lovely friend Michelle started posting some amazing photos of her little girl, I knew I had to ask if she would like to do a mini Little Choopie photo shoot. In the process of starting up her own photography business she more than came to the party. And brought two stunning Little Choopie models along with her.

Michelle has effortlessly captured the detail of each new product on these delightful little girls, and as each new photo lands in my email, I fall more in love with it than the one previous. And whilst I wont bombard you with a gazillion new Little Choopie photos, I will leave you with this beautiful photo of two little girls (wearing Little Choopie of course) and swallowing up all life has to offer.

I can not begin to tell you how excited we are to have KUP KUP Land, the amazing works of Joaquima Casas Bo arrive at Little Choopie. From the moment I first laid eyes on Joaquima's work I knew it was the "something" I needed at Little Choopie.

The details and fun of Joaquima's "art" takes you on a journey to another place. Each piece has been meticulously crafted by hand and the love taken in the packaging.. well that's just another story altogether. Truly if packaging were an Olympic sport the gorgeous accessories packed at KUP KUP would win hands down.

In a world where everyone is searching for the wow factor, I think I found it. Delightful hand crafted felt and beautiful delicate paper brooches won't rain on your parade but really take any outfit or bag to that next level with a true uniqueness.

The attention to detail of Joaquima's pin-back buttons really has me smiling every time I pick one up. They really do transport you to a place that's quirky and fun and whimsical. The Detail and Design

Fresh to the Little Choopie store is the amazing works of Israeli artist and designer, Yali Paz Gilboa.

Aimed at an older more sophisticated wearer (but most definitely suitable for our little princesses), Yali's hand crafted pieces are simple yet acutely stunning. The detail in each one of a kind piece is simply beyond belief. I truly wish my photo's did them more justice for up close each piece is a little wonder and true work of art.

At Little Choopie, we will be stocking Yali's hand crafted felt double headed bobby pins and vintage embroided felt rings. If an extreme love of these products was converted into money, I would have imported her whole stock line. It is simply divine.

For now I would love to give you a peak of what you can find in store. Firstly Yali's beautiful double headed flower bobbies.

Each stunning bobby is one of a kind and there are no repeat of colour-ways in store, so you can be sure that your piece is truly unique to you. They are available for immediate purchase here.

The next products were so hard to list, because if truth were to be known, I would love to keep each stunning vintage style felt ring for myself. Hand-crafted on felt from tiny pieces of lace and appliqué and embroided with such attention to detail, Yali has created something so stunning but unlike anything I have seen on the market before.

Inspiring work spaces

I've been checking out Flickr lately. It's become my new night time obsession flicking from one gorgeous photo to the next. I love how you can type in a simple keyword and thousands of beautiful images fill your screen.

This week I have been looking at loads of inspiring work spaces. You see I'm just coming out of a bit of a rut. My tired old craft room was in need of a face lift and for a boost of practicality. Writing this I now wish I had taken some photos of my old space. Things are changing! And Flickr is definitely inspiring that.

Today I would love to show you some of the images that have inspired my new work space and some that I just downright love! And then in the coming days I would love to show you how my new work space is coming together. It's all very exciting for me.

The first image is from Chez Larsson who I think just has the most amazing knack for putting spaces perfectly together. You can follow Chez on blogger too which I have only just discovered! Perhaps my new favourite read. You can find her here

The other space I would love to share with you is simply amazing. Oh how I wish I had the space, the room, the colours! A true blast of vibrant colour that would certainly inspire anyone to crack down and start their work!

Think Outside Your Square

Its been an exciting month with Little Choopie spotted in some amazing places. If you have a moment or too I would love to share our excitement of where we have been spotted this month.

Starting of the month with HUGE excitement was an editorial on our Monday to Friday clips in this months MY CHILD magazine. Such a huge thrill to be apart of such an amazing parent and child magazine.

I was also ecstatic to see we were mentioned not only once but twice over at the Mama Loves to Shop blog. Our Cupcake Cuties- 5 hair ties are the top left image.

I do have to apologise, I am terribly behind in posting about our fabulous new stockists, there have been quite a few jump on board at Little Choopie in the last few months, so I have been a busy mumma making wonderful orders for our great new stockists.

When Lis from biBowden contacted me to become a stockists I was overjoyed that our products would be marketed at the little princesses making THE PRINCESS'S day an absolute delight. The girls over at Details Details sure know how to throw a stunning party. I was thrilled to read their blog post last week about their darling little Zoe's first birthday.

Inspired by the Alannah Rose little Lala bird invitation available at Details Details, these superbly talented girls set about creating the most gorgeously detailed party I have ever laid eyes on. I talked earlier in the week about slightly changing the pace of Little Choopie and introducing some new irresistible gorgeous girlie brands into the made with love mix.

Lila and May are one of the simply gorgeous girlie brands that I just had to have for Little Choopie. Made with oodles of Love, Sarah of Lila and May transforms stunning cotton and bamboo fabrics into the most gorgeous creations.

Fitting like a glove into the Little Choopie store is Lila and May's "Knotty Necklaces". With a design and style to suit every personality, these chunky fabric covered wooden bead necklaces are just divine. Aimed at the younger market, I am thinking these gorgeous necklaces would look just as stunning on a teen or adult as a perfect accessory to wear with that plain tee and jeans or that gorgeous maxi dress.

A touch of whimsy comes to Little Choopie

An exciting month for Little Choopie. We have opened our arms and brought in a few new designers to add a bit more whimsy and wonder to the Little Choopie online store.

I am in love with both these delicious brands and just could see them fitting in perfectly with the Little Choopie concept, made with love and indeed they do. And with out further ado I would love to introduce the first gorgeous brand Little Choopie is stocking, "Tuttifruiti".

Tuttifruiti is the wonderful creation of the fabulously talented Belinda, a gorgeous and creative mum based in the Northern Beaches of New South Wales. In sending her youngest child of to school, Belinda found herself more time to put into her small handmade label Tuttifruiti. And I for one are so so glad she did.

I'd thought I would introduce another one of our stockists who has been with us for some time now. Design Child has been up and running since 2005 and certainly covers everything from mum, to bub, to child. All with 100% class.

I love going through the imaginary shelves at Design Child and seeing all my favourite brands including; Alimrose designs, Oobi baby, Three Little Trees, Dwell studio, Little Choopie and of course so many more.

One of things I love most about Design Child is that they have such a wonderful selection of children's books. I have just noticed recently that they have our favourite book in; Tickle Monster.

You know nothing but the word "gorgeous" would encapsulate the feel of the website better. Well maybe perhaps stunningly gorgeous. But I think you would have to agree it is simply beautiful.

To my gorgeous friends over at Sticky Tiki!! A few weeks before I headed to Sydney for Magnolia Square I asked the lovely Kim from Sticky Tiki if there was any way at all possible that she could do a Little Choopie bird wall decal for me. Well she did and I think it looked just amazing sitting on my wall at Magnolia Square.

I am only sorry that we didn't get any close up's of this gorgeous little fellow. I will definitely have to take a few of this gorgeous guy in his new home, my studio.. hmm better make sure I clean it first then..

Little Choopie marveling over Magnolia Square

Wow, its been a few weeks now since we arrived home from our trip to Magnolia Square in Sydney.
To say the event was a success would be a slight understatement, it was a HUGE success!! The atmosphere and Magnolia Square community were just amazing. Every detail had been covered by the amazing organisers of the Magnolia Square event and it really was just a fabulous dream come true to be apart of it all. I can't wait to do it all again next year.

We were situated between two amazing stallholders, Koolaman and Raspberry Ripple. Being the avid fan of shopping I am, (and boy was I in shoppers paradise) I picked up a few goodies from my fellow stallholders.

From Koolman Designs I picked up two gorgeous silver personalized pendant necklaces which you can view here and here. I had the smaller one personalised with my little boy Lucca's name and the Larger pendant personalised with my husbands and I names and our wedding dates.

From Raspberry Ripple I got some gorgeous personalised porcelain accessories with our family members names on them. They look just gorgeous hanging from the tree.

Next I purchased a gorgeous bag from Sisken, the leather on this is so deliciously soft. I am in love! And I am certainly wondering how I ever did without the B.Box I purchased at Magnolia Square. I would suggest that anyone who has a baby or toddler go and get one of these amazing little cases.

So much more did I buy but I might have to share it for another time as I did a lot of Christmas shopping and it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you would it!

I would also like to thank my gorgeous friend Andrea for flying to Sydney with me to help out at Magnolia Square. I couldn't have done it without you and it meant so much to have you there. Thanks lovely xx

When I received an email a few weeks back from Candice at Princess Ratbag asking to be a stockist of Little Choopie accessories, my heart did a few jumps for joy. I have been secretly admiring Candice's gorgeous pettiskirts for quite some time now so was overjoyed when Candice told me she would love to have them match up with her pettiskirts.

If I had a little girl I think she would just about live in these gorgeous skirts. I think she would have a different one for everyday of the week. I am not to sure my Little Choopie would appreciate me trying to put him in a pettiskirt, although I am sure he would love to snuggle up to its gorgeous soft and floaty layers.

I wonder if there is anything that the gorgeous Andrea from Soda Pop Kids isn't good at!

This week Andrea set about launching her second business baby, MintiMoo shoes. Having just received our first pair of MintiMoo boots in the post yesterday (talk about super speedy service!) I can tell you that we are 100% hooked on what Andrea has done with these amazing little shoes.

On the MintiMoo website the shoes are described as buttery soft and I would have to agree. I have never felt children's shoes so soft before. They really are just divine. To believe it, you really do have the feel the quality of these shoes. I am so impressed.

Little Choopie Hearts Ministylista

Thanks again to Jen from Ministylista for hosting this last fortnights Little Choopie win a bodysuit of your choice competition.

For those of you who just new to Little Choopie and reading about this for the first time, we asked Little Choopie and Ministylista fans to come up with a new design for our t-shirts and bodysuits and a new design for Christmas.

There were some brilliant ideas coming through the Little Choopie mailbox. Some of our fans have some really fabulous imaginations but in the end it was a really tough call between two terrific ladies, Anna Codey (from cradlejam) and Kym Teale.

Both ladies came up with some really amazing design concepts that really took into consideration the current designs of Little Choopie and the new look design of the website. Anna came up with some amazing ideas involving a Hot air balloon (I really can't wait to get this design started) and Kym who absolutely adores Christmas (as do I) came up with some fabulous Little Choopie Christmas designs including our Little Choopie bird decorating his Little Choopie home.

Given, I think these ladies really took into consideration the Little Choopie design and feel I am awarding them both the main prize!! Well done girls!! I can't wait to expand on the brilliant designs you both have offered.

1. I love a story behind how business came up with their names, how did you come up with yours?

Well, I think a store name needs to be something fun and catchy, a name that will stand out from the crowd ... and to cut a long story short (yes, it's a very long story!), we were discussing what I could call the site and throwing names around. I said that I wanted something fun, something poppy, something fizzy ... hence Soda Pop Kids!

2. Running a business can be a stressful time, what do you love doing to unwind?

I love to read! I don't get much of a chance, but when I start a novel I just zone out. I also love taking photos, and hope to get back into that again soon.

3. What are your three favourite products in your store at the moment?

Ohh, tough question! I love the Little Lark tees. Christy has produced an amazing range this Summer, lots of organic and lots of colour. I am also in love with the gorgeous Princess Ratbag Pettiskirts, and the DINGaLING range is pretty amazing!

4. I love buying childrens book for my Little Choopie can you tell us your favourite childrens book?

We love 'Mr Pepper's Perfect Pet Shop' at the moment... who wouldn't love a baby zebracorn as a pet! Too cute!

5. If you could pack up and go on a holiday tommorow, where would you go and who would you take?

I would take my partner Dan, and go to a resort: relax on a beach, nice food, warm weather ... too tempting!

6. What are your children's fashion must haves for this summer?

For Connor, the Tommy Rocket shorts and tees are perfect, and I have just ordered Imogen some Oobi pieces from Terri at Little Styles: just gorgeous!

7. Lying on a hot beach with great book or snuggled under the covers reading a great book?

Probably snuggled under the covers with a great book

8. If you were to spend your last $20.00 at Little Choopie, what would you buy?

Those gorgeous little Ribbit Ribbit ponytail holders and the flower head wraps! Bright, colourful and fun!

Mixing it with Mini Stylista's

Last night was the first ever ministylista live chat event. The creator of this wonderful and inspiring haunt for children's and baby style asked Little Choopie to be the featured designer for the night. Incredibly honoured and chuffed we were glad to jump at the chance and lend a hand at the running of the night.

Jen (ministylista's creator) did an amazing job bringing so many wonderful people together to celebrate this first chat. Although overwhelming for some at the speed in which the chat was going (us ladies do love to chat you see) I think a great night was had by all.

Little Choopie had a marvelous treasure hunt going on during the one hour chat event and from all the emails I received in my inbox I was sure I was going to crash my system but it all stayed afloat and the treasure hunt was a huge success with a few lovelies being sent some gorgeous new snap clip sets.

Oh how excited was my Little Choopie and I this week when we opened up our new package from Mini Gaga. We won a little prize a week back on the Mini Gaga blog that was sponsored by the lovely ladies at Little Bubble and tree and Alannah Rose. Thank you ladies for promoting and sponsoring such a wonderful and generous prize.

Having wanted to throw a huge circus party for my Little Choopie for his first birthday but then being talked out of it by some well meaning people, I put the idea on the back burner for at least a little while. But now with our new amazing Pango Pants from Little Bubble and Tree and our equally fabulous Circus Invitations from Alannah Rose we are ready to throw a wonderful circus party for our little Lucca. I can't wait!!

Its Child's play

Don't you just love how little ones are so imaginative. Whether it be the lid of the blocks box, Daddy's slippers or mumma's dressing gown, my Little Choopie just loves to put it on.

A few days back when I was making some of our gorgeous head wraps for a very special customer, My Little Choopie snuck of to try one of mummies creations on... I hope you get a bit of a giggle out of it. I know we did!

Two Burnt fingers and a whole lot of fun!

I have been busy busy these last few days oohing and ahhing over some of the new fabric I just got in. After two burnt fingers (yes those hot glue guns can be quiet hot - believe it or not!) I have produced some new fun ideas now available in store . I am hoping to introduce to you a few new products over the next few days, but if your terribly eager to see them all please visit the shop where you will see all our new stock in all its lovely glory!

I am in love with these pretty little ladies.. If I was a few years younger and had some ballet shoes I would definitely be seen in these every day...

Who is Little Choopie?

Hello and welcome to my first blog, Little Choopie - Made with love.

So I bet your wondering who is this Little Choopie person and how did they come to writing this little blog.

Little Choopie is the affectionate name that I have called my baby boy, Lucca since day dot. I don't know why I did, I had never even heard of Little Choopie before but it just sounded right. Thankfully little Lucca hasn't been too confused with all these names' and will happily answer to both. (F.I: I have since googled "Little Choopie" and besides finding my own website, I have since discovered that Little Choopie is some kind of superhero - so the name is kinda fitting really!)

So your now probably wondering how a little fellah like Little Choopie goes on to having a lovely little shoppe with predominantly girlie things (think lots of pretty girls accessories and whimsical tee's)named after him. Well his mumma (yes that's me!) has always been a bit of a girlie girl. OK so maybe just more than a bit, (think pink bridal showers, matching accessories for every outfit, high teas, and anything that is pretty really.) But with all this testosterone in the house, Little Choopie's mumma felt the need to even things up a bit by creating deliciously girlie accessories and whimsical tees for the baby and toddler in your life. Loving creating girlie accessories and tees, Little Choopie's mummy felt that something was missing. Some of the fun for her Little Choopie!! So some funky and gorgeous boy baby and toddler tees and bodysuits were thrown into the mix.

So that how this little blog about a little Shoppe called Little Choopie - Made with love came about. (lots of "Little's" isn't there!! but I guess one has to start somewhere ;)

So far we (little Choopie and I) have enjoyed this journey immensely. Stay tuned for more of our journey as we tell you more about the daily in's and outs of Little Choopie- Made with love
